One of the best ways to arm yourself against stress is to become aware of the symptoms and warning signs, and to learn how to become more in tune with the feelings in your body.  By doing so you will be able to identify exactly when you start to feel stressed.

Recognizing The Symptoms Of Stress

  • Headaches, Irritability, Tired
  • Pessimistic Outlook, Easily Upset, Hypersensitive

  • Negative Self Talk And Negative Thoughts

  • Avoiding Social Situations
  • Feeling Blue


Recognizing The Symptoms Of Anxiety

When suffering with anxiety, in addition to the symptoms of stress you may also experience:

  • Trembling – Internally And Externally – Visibly Shaking
  • Muscle Tension
  • Dry Mouth
  • Shortness Of Breath
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Feeling Light Headed
  • Feeling Dissociated Or Unreal
  • Sweaty Or Clammy Hands
  • Feeling Helpless, Hopeless Or Fearful


Recognizing The Symptoms Of Panic Attacks

Anxiety may be accompanied by panic attacks. These attacks are much more violent on the body and may include the following symptoms

  • Feeling Faint
  • Chest Pain Or Tightness In The Chest
  • Shaking
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Numbness Or Tingling In The Face, Hands, Legs
  • Stomach Upset
  • Feeling Paralysed By Fear
  • Flushed – Very Hot, Chilled or Both
  • Feeling As Though You Will Choke
  • Fear of Losing Control Or That You Are Going To Die
